ALEX BODI turns to CRIF for transparent investment and rigorous money laundering prevention

Romanian entrepreneur Alex Bodi is pursuing his current international investment and growth plans with an explicit focus on money laundering prevention. His contractual partnership with CRIF is intended to provide a robust foundation for due diligence on customers, business partners and corporate relationships. The primary objective is continuous compliance with the applicable anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, thereby protecting his business projects from avoidable legal, financial and reputational risks.

Text size:

On 21 September 2026, Bodi met Michael H. Hofmann, Managing Director of CRIF Potsdam GmbH, in Potsdam, near Berlin, to discuss all contractual obligations arising from their collaboration. The partnership covers customer and corporate due diligence, together with measures to prevent money laundering.

Why CRIF is valuable to Bodi’s businesses
CRIF has a presence in 37 countries, with more than 85 subsidiaries and approximately 6,600 employees. For cross-border business, the combination of international business information and specialised screening procedures is particularly relevant: companies can assess their business partners systematically, rather than relying exclusively on information those partners provide themselves.

Bodi’s German corporate partner insists on KYC, AML and KYB
Alex Bodi’s new, financially strong partner is a German conglomerate that has operated internationally for 30 years and insists on rigorous compliance with the applicable anti-money laundering regulations and regulatory requirements. The German corporate group, whose business activities include working with Network Industries https://www.ril.com in India and Berkshire Hathaway https://www.BerkshireHathaway.com in the United States, makes compliance with these requirements a prerequisite for joint business projects. The conglomerate has engaged a team of legal and financial experts to support its business activities and the associated due diligence processes.

Three complementary areas are involved: KYC — “Know Your Customer” — concerns the identification and verification of customers. KYB — “Know Your Business” — focuses on companies, ownership structures and beneficial owners, meaning the natural persons behind a company. AML — “Anti-Money Laundering” — encompasses the broader measures used to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.

CRIF’s offering in this area includes, for example, the KYC More platform. It supports the tracing of ownership chains, sanctions screening, checks on politically exposed persons and the assessment of media reports relevant to risk. Ongoing monitoring can reveal changes affecting companies and their owners, while recorded due diligence steps facilitate clear, traceable documentation.

This is precisely where a tangible commercial benefit lies for the projects undertaken by Bodi and his corporate partners: potential concerns relating to sellers, investors, suppliers or distribution partners can be identified earlier and examined in greater depth before a contract is signed. Automated processes can also reduce the amount of manual research required. Due diligence therefore need not end when a business relationship is established; it can continue as that relationship develops.

Keeping BaFin, the SEC, the FCA, FINMA and the ASF in view
Throughout these activities, Bodi gives priority to compliance with the applicable anti-money laundering regulations and regulatory requirements. The focus is on the respective remits of Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the United Kingdom’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) and Romania’s Financial Supervisory Authority (Autoritatea de Supraveghere Financiară, ASF). These supervisory authorities link money laundering prevention with, among other measures, risk-based controls, due diligence obligations and the monitoring of relevant business relationships. CRIF provides substantial support for the necessary due diligence processes.

Bodi’s specific projects require clearly documented decisions
The commercial importance of such checks is illustrated by the property project agreed with an internationally active German conglomerate, comprising 166 apartments in Halle (Saale), which was recently notarised in Berlin (Federal Republic of Germany) and involves a seven-figure investment in euros. Plans include the preservation, refurbishment and further development of the residential portfolio in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.

Other initiatives include the ALPHA WHEY and BODI Energy Drink product projects, whose development is intended to receive scientific support through collaboration with Prof. Dr. Dieter Lazik of the Slow Medicine Research Institute, as well as a planned ALIX-LASERS showroom in Bucharest https://www.Alix-Lasers.de. Particularly where different industries and international partners are involved, consistent due diligence procedures can help ensure that ownership structures and risk profiles are assessed in a transparent and traceable manner.

Bodi’s cross-border activities also include the collaboration agreed with Prof. Dr. Stefan Haupt for an exhibition of the Haupt Collection in Romania, alongside discussions concerning a possible honorary consulate of South Sudan in Bucharest. https://www.NottinghamGuardian.co.uk/Politics/765133-alex-bodi-and-ambassador-gum-dominic-matiok-of-the-republic-of-south-sudan-meet-in-berlin-to-discuss-the-possibility-of-an-honorary-consulate-in-bucharest.html

The partnership with CRIF is intended to safeguard this business strategy through structured risk assessments. For Alexandr Nicolae Bodi, the focus is therefore not solely on expanding his businesses, but on combining growth, transparency and verifiable decisions.
