Who said what: French Open day 7

Key quotes from the seventh day of the French Open at Roland Garros on Saturday:

Text size:

"For sure we have new Grand Slam champion, but I don't want to think about this."

"You see the draw...and, you know, it's not easy to stay match by match, but I try to do it."

-- Tenth seed Fabio Cobolli tries not to look past Zachary Svajda as he eyes an inviting draw.

"When I saw Sinner was out, I try to stay present and stay positive and just take it day by day, match by match. I knew the draw was open, but I just tried to keep doing what I've been doing, and just see what happens."

-- Svajda, ranked 85, tries not to look past Cobolli.

"I know who I'm playing next. That's the only thing that I can control. The matches that I have in front of me and everything else will fall into place."

-- Alexander Zverev, the highest remaining men's seed, says he's not looking at the draw.

"Yeah, it's such an open tournament, which is kind of refreshing, I guess, for everyone, and to see that there will be a new slam champion in about a week or so. I think every player is aware of it."

-- Casper Ruud said he is studying the draw.

"The Russian players, let's be real, they don't want to communicate. They have these horrible beliefs. Yeah, that's what we have right now on tour. For me this is something we need to stop to accept in the professional sports."

-- Ukrainian Oleksandra Oliynykova sticks to her message after losing to Russian Diana Shnaider.

"I don't know anything about what she said. Wasn't interested at all."

-- Shnaider says she's not listening.

"Match points on one side, match points on the other side. Just a matter of nerves, and sometimes a little bit of luck, I think it's needed."

-- Matteo Berrettini after saving two match points and squandering four before beating Francisco Comesana 15-13 in a 10-point tiebreak.

"It was a Roland Garros match."

-- Matteo Arnaldi after edging Raphael Collignon in a fifth-set tiebreak.

"For me, it would be weirder to wear a normal tennis kit almost at this point. I feel like it's the fun of it. For a long time, I didn't have fun for a little bit. And you guys know that period of time in my life. Now I just want things to be fun, and I want to make it exciting for myself."

-- Naomi Osaka explains the value of her little gold tennis dress.

"Today I'm in the mood to just get back in the room, do treatment. Put on Netflix. Have some hot chocolate, because air conditioning is, like, 16 degrees in my room."

-- While Paris swelters, Aryna Sabalenka prepares to chill after her victory.

"The days are long, and the night will be long. I'm probably not sleeping until 3:00, 3:30, or 4:00 am tonight. Luckily, we have a day off tomorrow."

"It's the beauty of slams, and the days off, we try to use them as much as we can."

-- Ruud looking forward to a break at a post-midnight press conference.

"Obviously, the fireworks mid-match was a bit chaotic. It's a first."

-- Madison Keys on the celebrations around nearby Parc des Princes when Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League in Budapest while she was still battling past Victoria Mboko.
